About A Smart Move Boxes
Why use A Smart Move Box? Our boxes are clean & sanitized, waterproof, crushproof, lockable, stack easily, hold 2x more than cardboard, with an easy grip handle, supplied with free labels and zipties – saving you time, money whilst calming the chaos of moving for you.
How are they better than cardboard? The choice is ultimately yours – you can spend ages finding the right size boxes, buying packing tape and bubble wrap. The boxes maybe free but you do not know what has been in there before and they may contain dirt or bacteria that you do not want to transfer onto your 500 count thread linens! And then once you have finished with your boxes – how are you actually going to dispose of them? Seriously, think about it.
We turn up with clean, assembled, sanitized boxes that do not need tape & that are ready to go.
What are the box sizes? We offer a one size Smart Move medium sized box which is 27” long x 17” wide x 12” high. We find offering one size box cuts down on confusion of how many boxes of which size to order.
What do you mean about sanitizing the boxes? Are you aware that bugs and bacteria can live in cardboard boxes? They also retain water and moisture, making it a breeding ground for bugs and bacteria, so we sanitize them for your peace of mind.
Our boxes are made from heavy duty plastic which is dense, durable and very un-bug friendly!
How much weight can each box hold? Each Smart Move Box can contain between 40-50lbs and can be stacked 4-5 high on a dolly.
Do I need to keep my boxes clean? We understand that the Smart Move Boxes may get dirty and normal debris is expected. But putting your dried muddy Soccer kit inside which may leave an undue amount of dirt and therefore in need of some heavy duty cleaning on our part, will be charged at $3.00 per box upon return.
We supply easy-peel labels free of charge but if you decided to use your own sticky labels which are hard to remove, a $3.00 per box charge for cleaning will be applied. You may use Gaffer or Electricians tape – please do not use Dollarstore or 99c tape – as this is very difficult for us to remove & may result in extra charges.
About our Services
What is involved with delivery & pick up? We make all deliveries and collections within a 2 hour delivery window, 6 days a week. We are able to make exceptions under special circumstances and strive to do our best to help our customers in these situations.
We need a person over 18 to be at each location to sign for the Smart Move Boxes. This protects both parties. Any Smart Move Boxes that do not get returned will be charged at $30.00 per box & $150 per crate.
What areas do you currently service? We cover the whole of San Diego County, offering free delivery & collection within a 25 mile (30 minute) radius from 92130 for home moves. Service outside of these areas or commercial clients will then be calculated on a per order basis.

How do I pack my fragile items? A Smart Move recommends using our heavy duty newsprint paper & bubble wrap. Cover each item in the paper or bubble wrap and then place in the box, making sure the box is packed tightly & empty space is filled with crunched up paper to reduce the likelihood of your items moving in-transit. To date we have not heard of any breakages.
What if I move to a different City or State? We have fostered relationships with similar companies around California & throughout North America – so please give us a call to see if we can help you.
Do you also move my things? No. We are not a moving company but we work with moving companies, who love our boxes, as it makes their lives easier & cuts down on their time, on average about 2 hours – which ultimately means, costs you less. Please contact us for their details.
Do you offer long-term rentals or packing services? There are a few people who want to pack up their household or office items for an extended period. Please call for prices for such circumstances.
How do I order my Smart Move Boxes? Either book on line at A-SMART-MOVE.COM where you will see the order form, call us on 858-790-834 or email us at email@example.com.
Is there a minimum order? Yes, 25 boxes for 1 week.
What if I need more boxes? This is considered a new order and will have its own independent rental agreement.
Can I keep the boxes longer than the original agreement? Yes, providing we have not already got them booked out. We ask if you could give us 48 hours notice prior to collection date if this is your intention, so we can best accommodate your needs. Additional fees apply.
Do you accept partial returns? No. The boxes are rented in periods of whole weeks. We do not do daily pro-rated charges.
Do you accept early returns? We understand that sometimes clients finish with their boxes prior to the original collection date. We will do our best to collect if you finish earlier but there are no refunds for early returns.
Can I change my dates? We understand that things beyond our control happen and date changes can be one of those things. We ask if you can give us as much notice as possible of any changes in your dates as we strive to meet all our clients’ needs.
Can I sub-let out my boxes? No. You are responsible for condition of the Smart Move Boxes whilst they are rented to you. We will deliver and collect from the addresses given at the time of the order. Kindly note that broken and lost boxes will be charged at $30.00 per box & $150 per crate to the credit card we hold on file.
What method of payment do you accept? We accept cash, check or credit cards (4% surcharge)
